BikeLakeland: a Lakeland Florida citizen initiative
Vision: Establish Lakeland as Florida’s foremost bike friendly community
Mission: Bringing together Lakeland bicyclists, business people, city employees and concerned residents to promote awareness and effect positive change for bicycle riders in the community.
Goals 2010-2011:
1) By June 1, 2011, design or choose bike racks that are Visible, Inexpensive, Secure, Accessible and Attractive
2) Raise funds to build at least ten bike racks.
3) Work with Lakeland city staff and business leaders to identify bike rack locations that address current need or near-future growth.
4) Fund a minimum of 5 bike racks in the Greater Downtown Lakeland area by June 6th, 2011

As a avid bicyclist and small business owner located in downtown Lakeland, I think it’s about time we become bike friendly. Great job keep this going.
