Cyclist Killed on Lake Hollingsworth Drive
According to reports, this evening Byers Levy, 59, was struck and killed while riding on Lake Hollingsworth Road at Fairhaven Drive.
Lakeland Police say a white Toyota Camry driven by 74-year-old Ronald Akins was traveling northbound when witnesses say he lost control of his car and ran off the roadway. Akins reportedly veered back into the roadway, crossing into the opposite lane, but not before he struck Byers Levy with his front bumper.
Levy reportedly tried to evade the impact, but was unable to do so. He was ejected from the bicycle. — WTSP
